2018 BullyStoppers Call to Action Workshop

In collaboration with the MSU-Council on Minority Affairs, and Empathic Solutions Group, LLC, the L2CF coordinated the 2018 BullyStoppers Training Workshop that was held on Saturday, September 8th, on the East Mississippi Community College Campus-Mayhew. Sessions were designed to empower students to: 1) Accurately identify bullying tactics and methods; 2) review theories of bullying; 3) examine the array of effects of weaponizing words, gestures, and images; 4) accurately identify potential signs of bullying victimization; and 5) increase awareness of  best practices regarding assisting victims and disclosing suspected bullying. Approximately thirty students in grades sixth through twelfth from Louisville, Columbus, and Starkville completed the training. Student participants established local teams of BullyStoppers; took an oath to be their brother’s/sister’s keeper; and signed a pledge confirming their commitment to the student-led movement.
