In memory of Dr. M. L. King’s work to improve the compensation and work conditions of sanitation workers and to recognize and celebrate members of the Starkville Sanitation Department, the L2CF treated the department to an annual luncheon that features delicious food, Certificate of Achievements, and exciting door prizes. The staff of the Starkville Sanitation Department are indeed “essential workers” and for many residents and businesses, they are valuable and indispensable “first responders.” They contribute mightily to the health and wellness of all citizens and the curb appeal of the City of Starkville.
